This collision of art and life takes place while looking through a watercolor painting
of window or an oil painting of a view across the street. But it is also found when looking
at a black and white photograph at the dinner table and in a garden of reeds,
your works have drawn me to the place of your imagination.
These works have allowed my mind to wander and find a life deep
inside your art making activity. This is what I value when I look at artworks.
Whether in a photograph, a drawing or painting, these artifacts take me to an
intimate and particular place. It is a place familiar to me, a place where I’ve
been before, but I can’t quite locate it in the recesses of my memory
.....Jeffrey Morton, juror

It is my belief that as we mature we bring along with us those wonderful
and not so wonderful experiences that begin to take shape and form
in our art making. Sometimes a simple stroke, a simple line
says more to the viewer than over-defining a subject matter.
We can all identify with a simple line element, as that is how we all
began in our play and art-making. Art must remain somehow an act of play,
otherwise it loses its freshness and spontenaity that is so necessary.

It is my hope that you will enjoy the galleries that contain some of
my current work. I will continues to add to the galleries, so please
return. And, do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss
work that speaks to you.
